About John Suttle

John Suttle, CJF, RJF is a farrier educator. With a BA in Psychology from Sonoma State University in California, John is adept at effectively connecting with both the equine and human side of the horse and owner equation.

 

John has been an active farrier, shoeing throughout California, since 1978. He has been a competitor, clinician and judge at West Coast horseshoeing competitions.

 

He has created numerous case studies involving horses with acute injury and chronic problem feet and followed these horses over several years.

 

A Master Farrier, John has studied the Horse with other world-class farriers, veterinarians and other professional horsemen. He now shares his knowledge through teaching, seminars, clinics and workshops.

 

John is a founding member of the Balanced Horse Team. a group of equine professionals whose goal is to change the way the horse world approaches the health and behavior of the horse to prevent, improve and sometimes even reverse the destructive process that occurs with horses.

 

He currently serves as a select liaison to the American Association of Equine Practitioners' in the area of Veterinarian/Farrier Relations and the education of shoeing the equine foot.
